There are several toolkits available for GUI programming in Python; several are good, none are perfect, and they are not equivalent; there are situations where one or more otherwise excellent toolkits will not be appropriate. Mar 30, 2014 - An online version of Boudewijn Rempt's book about PyQt for Qt 3, GUI Programming with Python: QT Edition, is still available. As a result I have a working but still very raw prototype called KTAnki that successfully runs on my N900. Note: For Qt, I've used PySide; the example code would run using PyQt with only a few lines' difference. Nov 6, 2007 - All the book's examples can be downloaded from the book's web page. Jan 18, 2012 - Python is a programming language that lets you work more quickly and integrate your systems more effectively. Dec 28, 2009 - For me as a long standing Linux user and Pythonista N900 has an unassailable advantage – its Maemo platform is Linux based and I can program in Python for the platform. So it's time to get my feet wet and learn some Maemo programming. Mark Summerfield's book, Rapid GUI Programming with Python and Qt, is an up-to-date guide to GUI application development with Python 2.5, PyQt4 and Qt 4.2/4.3. ( don't allow URLs so google for "qtrac" to find the page.) Note also that versions of the examples are also available for Python 3.
